A Practical Workbook for New Zealand Tweens & Teens

Your Timeline. Your Journey. Your Way.

ADHD can make everyday life feel harder than it seems to be for everyone else. Remembering things, getting started, managing big emotions, staying organised, keeping friendships on track or simply figuring out why your brain does what it does can sometimes feel like a lot.

The Kiwi ADHD Survival Guide was created to make some of that feel a little easier.

Designed specifically for New Zealand tweens and teens, this practical, down-to-earth workbook helps young people better understand their ADHD brain, recognise their strengths, discover what makes things harder and build strategies that actually work for them.

There are no lectures, no pretending ADHD is always a superpower, and no expectation that one strategy will work for everyone. Instead, young people are encouraged to explore their own experiences through relatable information, practical tools, checklists, activities, reflection pages and real-life Kiwi examples.

Inside, they'll explore topics including:

Understanding ADHD and how it can show up differently

School, learning and organisation

Executive functioning and getting things done

Emotions and mental wellbeing

Friendships and social situations

Routines, sleep and everyday life

Recognising strengths

Asking for help and communicating what they need

Practical strategies they can try, adapt and make their own

Most importantly, the workbook carries one message throughout:

You are not lazy.

You are not less capable.

You are not behind.

This isn't a workbook designed to "fix" a young person. It's designed to help them understand themselves, build confidence and create a toolkit they can keep coming back to as they grow.

And this is just the beginning...

The Kiwi ADHD Survival Guide is the first of many Not Behind workbooks and resources being created for young people and their whānau.

Future Not Behind workbooks will dive deeper into areas such as school, executive functioning, emotional regulation and other parts of life that can feel harder when your brain works differently.

Each resource will carry the same Not Behind approach: realistic, supportive, practical and created with young people in mind.

Because different doesn't mean less.

Real resources. Real support. Real change.
